App Center Slack App
Important
Visual Studio App Center is scheduled for retirement on March 31, 2025. While you can continue to use Visual Studio App Center until it is fully retired, there are several recommended alternatives that you may consider migrating to.

Overview
App Center Slack App empowers users to interact with App Center directly from Slack.
Our aim is to enable users to quickly access App Center services and respond to critical app data in Slack, and distribute to Slack workspaces and messages. Users can easily trigger a build, view an app's analytics and crashes, and invite new testers to an app. This is done via slash commands in Slack.
Getting Started
Navigate to App Center's Slack App, and install and authorize the app.
Navigate to your Slack workspace and select any direct message or channel.
In the message tab, run the Slash command
/appcenter
.Authorize App Center's Slack App by following the instructions below:
Go to https://appcenter.ms/settings/apitokens and create a new Full Access API token.

Go back to Slack and run
/appcenter login <your token>
.Welcome! You've successfully authorized your app.

View list of App Center commands You can pin a specific App Center app to the Slack channel or message. Run the slash command
/appcenter
and click on set current app to choose the default app. To remove the default app, run the slash command/appcenter
and click on clear current app.

What should I do when I receive an error message Looks like there is an error with your request
after running /appcenter [command]
?
This is because the API token used has been deleted. To resolve this,
- Go to https://appcenter.ms and create a new Full Access API token. Copy this API token.
- Navigate to your Slack workspace and select any direct message or channel.
- In the message tab, run
/appcenter logout
. - In the message tab, run
/appcenter login <your token>
.
