if the reader can parse and resolve entities; otherwise, false
. The XmlTextReader
class always returns true
.

Note
Starting with the .NET Framework 2.0, we recommend that you create XmlReader instances by using the XmlReader.Create method to take advantage of new functionality.
This is a change in the .NET Framework 2.0 release. In previous versions, the XmlTextReader
class could not resolve entities and CanResolveEntity
always returned false
.
