This topic explains how to delete a backup device.
To delete a backup device
After connecting to the appropriate instance of the Microsoft SQL Server Database Engine, in Object Explorer, click the server name to expand the server tree.
Expand Server Objects, and then expand Backup Devices.
Click the device you want to delete and right-click Delete, which opens the Delete Object dialog box.
In the right-hand pane, verify that the correct device name appears in the Object Name column.
Click OK.
