Rename queries (Visual Database Tools)

Applies to: SQL Server

You can rename any query that isn't currently open for editing. The following procedure assumes that the query you want to rename is closed.

Rename a query

1. From the View menu, choose Solution Explorer.

2. In Solution Explorer, right-click the query you want to rename and select Rename in the shortcut menu that appears.

3. Type a new name for the query and then press Enter.
