Yep it's that finals time that the Teaching Assistances get the revenge for you not showing up at their sessions. PhD's are worrying about their defenses and generally about a week before you can blow it out if you go that way or just relax if you aren't into doing the El Blasto thing.
But after the parties, time to go to work. And if you can spell Unit Test, you might be able to have an interesting job as an intern or nube. Or not.
How to get up to speed? Here are some virtual labs that set EVERYTHING up in the cloud. You only need the following:
- Only Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2003 are supported.
- Browser
Due to the complex requirements of presenting lab content over the internet, only Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 5 is supported.
If you do not have Internet Explorer, you can download it here. - Make sure to check the system requirements at: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-US/virtuallabs/bb509309
So take a look at the following, and hint CSULA one of these might be on the final "test":
- Exploratory Testing and Other Enhancements in Microsoft Test Manager 2012
- Authoring and Running Manual Tests using Microsoft Test Manager 2012
- Introduction to Test Planning with Microsoft Test Manager 2012
- Introduction to Test Case Management with Microsoft Test Manager 2012
- Introduction to Platform Testing with Microsoft Test Manager 2012
- Introduction to Coded UI Tests with Visual Studio Ultimate 2012
I would definitely utilize one of these labs prior to any interview or internship in software, they take about 1.5 hours and you can get up to a 1 hour extension. The work you do can't be preserved between sessions but you can start at different spots and you can do as many times as you need.
Check it out!
