What's new in Fundraising and Engagement July 28, 2022

We updated Fundraising and Engagement Azure services to improve a data synchronization challenge in payment schedules.

Important

Fundraising and Engagement is comprised of Dynamics 365 and Azure services. This version 2.0.3.4 update applies to Fundraising and Engagement Azure services only. The latest version of the Fundraising and Engagement Dynamics 365 solution continues to be version 2.0.3.3.

We highly recommend that nonprofit organizations and partners upgrade to Fundraising and Engagement Azure services version 2.0.3.4 and Dynamics 365 solution version 2.0.3.3 to take advantage of the latest donation and payment improvements.

Item How it worked before How it works now
Recurring donation deposit date The sync impacted the deposit date of a recurring donation transaction, which logged as one day before or after the book date. The recurring donation transaction deposit date and the book date are now the same and are synchronized through backend Azure services.

We fixed a synchronization issue between recurring transactions and book date by setting the deposit date in the user’s local time zone.
Recurring donations Some deployments experienced a one-day delay when a recurring donation was charged to the donor’s credit card. Recurring donations are processed on the expected date according to the schedule determined by the user.

We improved the way Fundraising and Engagement Dynamics 365 and Azure services synchronize to process payments according to user-defined date formats, time zones, and payment schedules.

Formats of the following attributes are adjusted in Fundraising and Engagement Dynamics 365 and Azure services synchronization to ensure recurring payments process according to the correct data:

Payment Schedule entity
- msnfp_nextpaymentdate
- msnfp_DepositDate
- msnfp_BookDate

Transaction entity
- msnfp_receiveddate

Important

Users with access to Fundraising and Engagement may work with sensitive data. We recommend that administrators and users enable multi-factor authentication to increase the security of their environment.
