Merge-Partition

This cmdlet merges the data of one or more source partitions into a target partition and deletes the source partitions.

Description

This cmdlet merges the data of one or more source partitions into a target partition and deletes the source partitions.

Partitions can be merged only if they meet all the following criteria:

  • Partitions are in the same measure group.
  • Partitions are stored in the same mode (MOLAP, HOLAP, and ROLAP).

Module requirements: version 21+ on PowerShell 5.1; version 21 (recent preview) or version 22+ on PowerShell 7.x.
