How to View Performance Counters for Local Continuous Replication

This topic explains how to view and collect the performance counters for local continuous replication (LCR) that are published by the Microsoft Exchange Replication Service. By using performance counters, administrators can determine the progress of the replication.

Before You Begin

To perform this procedure, the account you use must be delegated the following:

  • Membership in the local Administrators group

Procedure

To use the Performance snap-in to view the performance counters for local continuous replication

  1. Open a Command Prompt window, and start the Performance snap-in of the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) by running the following command:

    Perfmon
    
  2. Click the plus (+) button on the toolbar.

  3. If you are performing this procedure locally, choose Use local computer counters. If you are performing this procedure remotely, connect to the computer whose performance you want to monitor by entering the name of the computer in the Select counters from computer field.

  4. Use the Performance object drop-down box to select the MSExchange Replication object.

  5. Choose All counters to view all of the performance counters for replication and replay. Choose Select counters from list to specify one or more specific counters.

  6. Choose All instances to view the counters for all storage groups, or choose Select instances from list to specify one or more storage groups.

  7. Click Add to add the counters to the System Monitor display and begin collecting the performance data.

  8. Click Close to close the Add Counters dialog box.
