Move Database Path Wizard > Introduction Page (RTM)

Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 will reach end of support on April 11, 2017. To stay supported, you will need to upgrade. For more information, see Resources to help you upgrade your Office 2007 servers and clients.

Applies to: Exchange Server 2007

Use the Move Database Path Wizard to move an Exchange Server 2007 mailbox database or public folder database (.edb) file. If the storage group that contains the database has local continuous replication (LCR) enabled, the copy of the database file is moved as well.

Warning

To move a database file, the database must be temporarily dismounted and then remounted. This is done automatically by the wizard, but the database is inaccessible to all users during the process.

Note

You can also use the Exchange Management Shell to move database files. For more information, see Move-DatabasePath (RTM).
