Parameters

Parameter Required Type Description

Name

Required

System.String

Use this parameter to create a unique name for an X.400 authoritative domain object. When you specify a name that includes spaces, you must enclose the whole name in quotation marks, for example, "Display Name". The Name parameter must contain 64 or fewer characters.

X400DomainName

Required

Microsoft.Exchange.Data.X400Domain

The X.400 namespace specified in the X400DomainName parameter can only include the X.400 organizational components. Specifically, only the following attribute types are supported:

  • Label (Abbreviation)

  • C (Country)

  • A (ADMD)

  • P (PRMD)

  • O (Organization)

  • OU1 (Organization unit 1)

  • OU2 (Organization unit 2)

  • OU3 (Organization unit 3)

  • OU4 (Organization unit 4)

The address attributes must be separated by semicolons and the address must be enclosed in quotation marks, for example,

"C=US;A=ATT;P=Contoso;O=Example"

Confirm

Optional

System.Management.Automation.SwitchParameter

The Confirm parameter causes the command to pause processing and requires you to acknowledge what the command will do before processing continues. You don't have to specify a value with the Confirm parameter.

DomainController

Optional

Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Fqdn

To specify the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the domain controller that writes this configuration information from the Active Directory directory service, include the DomainController parameter on the command. The DomainController parameter is not supported on computers that have the Edge Transport server role installed. The Edge Transport server role writes and reads only to the local Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) directory service.

TemplateInstance

Optional

System.Management.Automation.PSObject

When an existing object is supplied to this parameter, the command uses the configuration of that object to create a duplicate of the object on a local or target server.

WhatIf

Optional

System.Management.Automation.SwitchParameter

The WhatIf parameter instructs the command to simulate the actions that it would take on the object. By using the WhatIf parameter, you can view what changes would occur without having to apply any of those changes. You don't have to specify a value with the WhatIf parameter.

X400ExternalRelay

Optional

System.Boolean

Use this parameter to specify this authoritative domain as an external relay domain. If you set X400ExternalRelay to $true, Microsoft Exchange will route the e-mail to the external address and will not treat resolution failures to this sub-domain as an error.

Example

The first example shows how to create a new X.400 authoritative domain that is named "Sales".

The second example shows how to create an external relay domain for a X.400 namespace that is named "Sales Europe".

New-X400AuthoritativeDomain -Name Sales -X400DomainName "C=US;A=att;P=Contoso;O=Sales"
New-X400AuthoritativeDomain -Name "Sales Europe" -X400DomainName "C=US;A=att;P=Contoso;O=Sales;OU1=Europe" -X400ExternalRelay: $true
