Server Configuration > Mailbox > Mailbox Server (RTM)

Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 will reach end of support on April 11, 2017. To stay supported, you will need to upgrade. For more information, see Resources to help you upgrade your Office 2007 servers and clients.

When you select the Mailbox node under Server Configuration node, all Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Mailbox servers in your Exchange organization are listed in the result pane.

Note

Exchange 2000 and Exchange 2003 servers are not listed in the result pane.

Note

When you select the Server Configuration node, all Exchange servers in your Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 organization that have any server roles installed are listed in the result pane. For more information about the Server Configuration node, see Server Configuration (RTM).

To focus on a set of servers that have specific attributes, you can use a variety of expressions to filter the list that appears in the result pane. For more information about filters, see How to Filter the Result Pane.

Note

To modify how server configuration objects are displayed in Microsoft Management Console (MMC), click View in the action pane. For more information about view options, see Server Configuration (RTM).

When you select a Mailbox server from the result pane, the following server-specific actions are available either by right-clicking the server name or by using the action pane.

  • Manage <Server Role>

    • Click Manage <Server Role> to manage the configuration for servers that have the selected server role installed. When you click Manage <Server Role>, you are directed to the corresponding sub-node under Server Configuration

  • Enter Product Key
    Click Enter Product Key to enter a product key for an Exchange 2007 server that does not already have a product key configured.

    Note

    This action is available only if you installed the 64-bit version of Exchange 2007.

  • Properties

    • Click Properties to view all properties for the selected server.

    • If you select Server Configuration, select a server in the result pane, and then click Properties, the <Server Name> Properties displays tabs for all the server roles that are installed on the server.

    • If you expand Server Configuration, select a server role sub-node, select a server in the result pane, and then click Properties, the <Server Name> Properties displays tabs for only the server role that you selected in the console tree.

      For example, if you expand Server Configuration, click Client Access, select a server that has the Client Access server role installed, and then click Properties, the <Server Name> Properties displays only the General tab and the Outlook Anywhere tab. These tabs are specific to Client Access servers.

The Database Management tab in the work pane lists all the storage groups and databases that exist on the selected server. When you select an item that is displayed on the Database Management tab, the action pane displays additional actions. The actions available are listed under the storage group or database name.
