Stress and Performance Tool: Setup
Topic Last Modified: 2011-02-22
To install the tools provided as part of the Microsoft Lync Server 2010 Stress and Performance Tool package, follow the instructions in this section.
Installing the Stress and Performance Tool
Run the Windows Installer file, CapacityPlanningTool.msi, on each client computer that you will be using to simulate user traffic and on the Front End Server of each pool where you will create users and contacts.
If you are running LyncPerfTool on a system running Windows Server 2003 R2 and you want a client computer to be able to open more than 5000 connections, run MaxUserPort.reg on the client computer. You must restart the computer after you run this registry file. If you do not restart the computer, the changes will not take effect and the computer may run out of TCP ports during the simulation.
