Formatting a Gauge

For an individual gauge inside of a gauge panel, there are five elements that you can format: a scale, a range, a pointer, a gauge, and the gauge panel. You can format the color and border of all elements on the gauge.

On the scale, you can format the tick marks, the scale labels, and the position of the scale inside of the gauge. On the pointer, you can set the color, shape, and position of the pointer of the gauge.

You can format the gauge frame by right-clicking the gauge and selecting Gauge Properties. There are four types of frames: circular, rectangular, rounded rectangular, and auto-shape, where the frame is drawn based on how the scale and pointers are positioned in the gauge. All frames can be applied to any radial or linear gauge.

In This Section

  • Formatting Scales on a Gauge
Discusses how to specify start and end margins on a linear scale, how to specify radius, start angle and sweep angle on a radial scale, and other formatting options for the radial and linear scale.

  • Formatting Pointers on a Gauge
Discusses how to specify an image, pointer positions on the scale, snapping intervals, and other formatting options for the radial and linear pointer.

  • Formatting Ranges on a Gauge
Discusses how to specify the minimum and maximum of a range on the scale that identifies an important zone.
