How to: Group or Ungroup Tasks and Containers in a Control Flow

The procedures in this topic describe how to group or ungroup tasks and containers in a control flow. However, to group tasks and containers in a control flow, the package must contain more than one task or container. For more information, see How to: Add or Delete a Task or a Container in a Control Flow and How to: Connect Tasks and Containers by Using a Default Precedence Constraint.

To group tasks and containers in a control flow

  1. In Business Intelligence Development Studio, open the Integration Services project that contains the package you want.

  2. In Solution Explorer, double-click the package to open it.

  3. Click the Control Flow tab.

  4. On the design surface of the Control Flow tab, select the tasks and containers you want to group, right-click a selected task or container, and then click Group.

  5. To save the updated package, click Save Selected Items on the File menu.

To ungroup tasks and containers in a control flow

  1. In Business Intelligence Development Studio, open the Integration Services project that contains the package you want.

  2. In Solution Explorer, double-click the package to open it.

  3. Click the Control Flow tab.

  4. On the design surface of the Control Flow tab, select the group whose tasks and containers you want to ungroup, right-click, and then click Ungroup.

  5. To save the updated package, click Save Selected Items on the File menu.
