Many users encounter the "referenced memory" error at shutdown. The common cause seems to be the Xbox controller. The workaround is to turn off the GameInput service.

Launch Services.msc and double-click “GameInput Service”

Set it to “Disabled” and click “Stop” to turn off the service if it’s running.
