Refilling |
This field works together with the Main warehouse field. Refilling the current warehouse When a main warehouse is selected as the source for refilling the current warehouse, the master schedule generates transfer orders. When a coverage warehouse is specified instead of a main warehouse, the master scheduling process does not support refilling from the main warehouse. If you want to refill from a main warehouse, you must make Warehouse active as an inventory dimension and select the Coverage plan by dimension check box in the Storage dimension groups form. Select Refilling to have the requirements that are generated from the master scheduling process filled through planned transfer orders. The requirements are filled from the warehouse that is specified in the Main warehouse field. The planned transfer order is listed in the Planned transfers form as a type transfer, with the reference value Planned transfer. In the Net requirements form, two transactions are generated: a Planned transfer to refill the current warehouse, and a Transfer requirement for the main warehouse. When the Planned transfer is firmed, a transaction is generated in the selected transfer journal. In the Net requirements form, the references for the two transactions are changed to Inventory journal transfer. In Transactions, a receipt transaction with the status Ordered, and an issue transaction with the status On order are generated for the relevant warehouses. When the transfer journal is posted, the statuses are changed to Purchased and Sold, respectively. |
Main warehouse |
Warehouse used to refill the current warehouse when Refilling is selected. You can define main warehouses on more than one level. Main warehouse and master scheduling Main warehouse is used with master scheduling. If you specify a main warehouse for your warehouse and select the Refilling check box, all issues are fulfilled by planned transfer orders at this warehouse. By specifying a main warehouse without selecting the Refilling check box, you create a hierarchical structure of warehouses. This is necessary because otherwise you cannot specify specific rules for item coverage. The following table shows the levels of the warehouses, their names, and their main warehouse, and in parentheses, other possible main warehouses that are further down the hierarchy.
