Business value

Sales organizations want to answer customers' sales questions quickly and accurately, especially when asked in real time. Microsoft Copilot supports sales-specific questions in real time during Teams meetings by relying on the seller's knowledge base to suggest answers to the seller.

Feature details

Copilot for Sales introduces an integration within Copilot in Teams to enhance real-time interaction between sellers and customers by detecting questions asked during a meeting and suggesting answers from the seller's knowledge base. This functionality leverages large language model (LLM) to recognize sales-related inquiries, ranging from general product features and company information to contracts, licensing, and BANT model questions. It seamlessly integrates with the Copilot in Teams UI, providing a streamlined experience for both.

This feature is not enabled by default. To activate it, enable the Copilot for Sales plugin in Copilot for Microsoft 365. Once set up, the system will automaticaly provide answers to recognized questions, drawing from the relevant documents stored in the chosen repository.

The system is equipped to detect and provide answers to a variety of questions during a Teams meeting, using the seller's knowledge base. Here are examples of the types of questions that can be addressed:

  • General product: Inquiries about product features, capabilities, and limitations, such as, "How much water can the coffee machine hold?" or "How long does the phone's battery last on a single charge?"
  • Company-related: Questions pertaining to the company's history and customer base, such as, "When was the company founded?," "How many customers do you currently serve?," and "Who are your top customers?"
  • Contracts and licensing: Information regarding the cost of services for a specific number of users, the types of deals available, and advice on current service payments and potential savings, such as, "What is the monthly cost per user for 300 users?," "What deals are available?," and "Can you provide details on my current service charges and how I might save money?"
  • BANT model: Questions primarily related to budget and timing, such as, "What is the cost of the service?" and "How long will the integration process take?"

These questions will be answered by referencing data stored in the seller's knowledge base, whether it's located in SharePoint, CRM, or OneDrive.
