MSA program communication and management platforms

Completed

There are a few things to think about when selecting the platform that you'll use as a means of communication and the management of your Minecraft Student Ambassadors program.

  • Which platform(s) do you currently have available in your school district?
  • Which platform(s) are your students comfortable with?
  • Which platform(s) makes the most sense for what you are trying to accomplish?

Illustration of things to consider when selecting a communication platform for your program: Do all of your committee members/program sponsors and students have access to your selected platform? Have you made time for your students to practice navigating around your selected platform? Have you set expectations for what and when you want your Minecraft Student Ambassadors to check-in and post on your selected platform?

Microsoft platforms/resources to consider

Microsoft provides a variety of platforms and resources that can be used to communicate with your Minecraft Student Ambassadors as well as help with the management of your Minecraft Student Ambassador program.

What is Microsoft Teams?

Microsoft Teams serves as your one-stop-shop for all things communication, announcements, files, etc. In Teams, users can collaborate on the same files in the team or in the OneNote that is provided in the team. It's a great place to post announcements that students and parents may need access to. Teams also allows users to engage in video conferencing with ease as well.

What is Flip?

In its simplest form, Flip is an amazing video response tool that allows the teacher to post a topic and have students leave video responses. Teachers and students are able to use Flip to create videos through the Shorts Cam, podcasts, and anything else they could possibly imagine. In regard to the MSA program, Flip is a great resource to showcase the phenomenal things your students are building and doing using Minecraft Education. Flip allows students to both visualize and verbalize their thinking.
