MSAs supporting teachers

Completed

Minecraft can be used as a tool for learning in just about any subject imaginable - from math and science to history and art. One of the missions of Minecraft Student Ambassadors is for students to help teachers use Minecraft Education with their students.

During the first meeting have a discussion with students on how they would like to support teachers and students in your school/district. Make sure to regularly include a focus on working with teachers during your Minecraft Student Ambassador meetings.

Some examples of how MSAs can support teachers include:

  • Create training videos
  • Co-teach a Minecraft lesson
  • Walk teachers through finding lessons
  • How to use Minecraft to replace dioramas
  • Provide a training on how to use Minecraft
  • Model the use of Minecraft across content areas
  • Demonstrate how coding can be used in Minecraft
  • How to screen record builds and other activities in Minecraft
  • Lead a Minecraft Teacher Academy for various grade levels and subjects
  • Demonstrate how Minecraft education resources can be used for real-time assessments
  • How to use the education resources in Minecraft for lessons (for example: book and quill, camera, and board)
  • Demonstrate how Minecraft can be used to replicate hands-on chemistry experiments in a virtual environment

In subsequent meetings, MSAs will need to be introduced to features included in Minecraft Education that teachers can leverage, including formative assessment tools like the Camera and Book and Quill, export options to help students share their work outside the game, and Immersive Reader to support reading and translating.
