SplitContainer.OnMouseMove(MouseEventArgs) Method

Definition

Raises the MouseMove event.

protected:
 override void OnMouseMove(System::Windows::Forms::MouseEventArgs ^ e);
protected override void OnMouseMove (System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs e);
override this.OnMouseMove : System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs -> unit
Protected Overrides Sub OnMouseMove (e As MouseEventArgs)

Parameters

e
MouseEventArgs

A MouseEventArgs that contains the event data.

Remarks

By default, the OnMouseMove event handler allows the user to track the splitter position while it is moved with the mouse. OnMouseMove also draws the SplitterRectangle to show the current position of the splitter while it is moving. The SplitContainer keeps track of the initial SplitterDistance in case the user cancels the move.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.

The OnMouseMove method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnMouseMove(MouseEventArgs) in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnMouseMove(MouseEventArgs) method so that registered delegates receive the event.
