I may be way behind on this I just noticed that the latest version of Windows Live Writer allows me to copy pictures from the clipboard straight into the blog post.  When last I tried (which I think was in August 06) this wasn't working, the workaround was very tedious (it involved uploading into our blog host and navigating and selecting each picture in turn).  After doing this numerous times in my SCVMM series I lost patience until now when I just hit copy & paste (used & tested in my last post).

Anyway even if this is old news I'm happy :-)
