MDOP 2014 R2 is now Available!

The latest version of the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack has been released! This release includes UE-V 2.1 plus App-V 5.0 SP3!

For UE-V, this includes some significant addition of features including:

  • Credential Roaming Support
  • Improved Office 2013 integration (especially email signatures)
  • Support for cloud-based storage paths!?

For App-V 5.0 SP3, we have fixed several issues and added some key features such as:

  • Mixed Targeted Connection Groups integrated into the Management/Publishing System
  • User-Targeted RunVirtual
  • Consolidated Event Logging
  • Improved Connection Group Performance

    So far very happy with SP3. The improvements to CGs are awesome(!!!), as is user based Run Virtual.

    I was really hoping the PATH variable convergence in CGs would have been changed though. Its now the single biggest pain in CGs. Having a large 'optional' CG but having to maintain a list of expanded PATH variables to put into package 0 defeats allowing CGs to have the version wildcarded (since the variables expand to C:ProgramData....PackageGUID_VersionGUID).
