Connecting Smartphones to Exchange servers protected with Private CA certificates

This week, Brian has written about how to connect Smartphones to the Exchange server when the server has a digital certificate provided by a private authority. If you have a phone that has been locked by the provider, then you can't install any software onto the phone, or use a digital certificate to connect to Exchange.
