View Retail POS shifts (Retail essentials)

This topic explains how to use the Shifts form to look up closed shifts from stores. Shifts have unique numbers and are associated with specific registers. If some shifts did not post during statement posting, this form can help you determine the reason. You can also use this form to look up previous Z reports.

The information on the Details tab in the form includes the information that is on X reports.

In Retail essentials, the form that you use to complete this task includes a subset of the controls that are available for other configurations of Retail. If a topic about this form describes controls that you don't see, it may be because you’re using Retail essentials.

To look up closed shifts, follow these steps:

  1. Click Retail essentials > Financials > Shifts.

  2. In the Shifts form, you can filter the list of shifts. To filter the list, follow one or more of these steps:

    • In the Store number field, select the store to view shifts for.

    • In the Register number field, select the register to view shifts for.

    • In the Shift from date field, select the starting date for the range of shifts to view.

    • In the Shift to date field, select the ending date for the range of shifts to view.

  3. To view the details of a shift, select the shift, and then click the Details tab.

  4. To view the Z report for a shift, select the shift, and then click Z-Report.

  5. To view the tender transactions for a shift, select the shift, and then click Shift tender transactions.

  6. To view the transactions that are included in a shift, select the shift, and then click Shift account transactions.
