sndOpenSound function (mmiscapi.h)

Opens the specified sound event.

Syntax

LONG sndOpenSound(
  LPCWSTR EventName,
  LPCWSTR AppName,
  INT32   Flags,
  PHANDLE FileHandle
);

Parameters

EventName

The name of the sound event.

AppName

The application associated with the sound event.

Flags

Flags for playing the sound. The following values are defined.

FileHandle

Receives the handle to the sound.

Return value

If this function succeeds, it returns S_OK. Otherwise, it returns an HRESULT error code.
