Quick machine recovery update status report

The Quick machine recovery update status report provides device-level insights. Use it to see which devices experienced boot failures and find the remediation status for each affected device.

Note

This report is only populated when a boot-critical issue occurs and Quick machine recovery updates are deployed. Otherwise, the report shows an empty state.

To view the Quality update status report:

  1. Go to the Microsoft Intune admin center.
  2. Navigate to Reports > Windows Autopatch > Windows quality updates.
  3. Select the Reports tab.
  4. Select Quick machine recovery updates.

The data in this report is refreshed every four hours with data received by your Windows Autopatch managed devices. See the last refreshed date and time at the top of the page. For more information about how often Windows Autopatch receives data from your managed devices, see Data latency

Report information

Default columns

The following information is available as default columns in the Quality update status report:

Column name Description
Device name The name of the device
Remediation status The current Quick machine recovery state for the device:
  • In boot failure: Device shows boot failure and has an applicable Quick machine recovery fix.
  • In progress: Fix is approved and remediation is ongoing.
  • Remediated: Device is recovered to main OS.
QMR version Quick machine recovery builds from Microsoft that's applicable to this device. If multiple fixes are relevant, this column shows the latest Quick machine recovery fix.
QMR fix release date The date Microsoft released the Quick machine recovery fix.
Quality update policy The name of the Quality update policy that's deploying the Quick machine recovery fix to the device
OS version The current version or build number of the device. For more information, see Windows Versions.

Note

If a device is in In-boot-failure state, approve the Quick machine recovery fix in order to proceed to the In-progress state.

Report options

The following report options are available:

Option Description
Search Search the report by device name, Microsoft Entra device ID, or serial number.
Sort Select the column heading to sort the report data in ascending or descending order.
Export Select Export devices at the top of the page to export data from this report into a CSV file.
Filter Select Add filters or use the filters at the top of the page to filter the results.
Columns Select a column to add or remove the column from the report.
