Hi,
This appears to be a limitation of OneNote on iPad, not a problem with your Visio file or fonts. OneNote for iPad does not fully support rendering embedded or linked Visio (.vsdx) content, especially when the file is edited on a PC and then viewed on iOS. When this happens, text inside the Visio object can appear as garbled characters even though it looks correct on Windows.
This occurs because OneNote on iPad relies on a simplified rendering engine and does not process Visio diagrams the same way the Windows version does. Font choice (including Song or imitation Song) is not the main issue here—the Visio object itself is not fully supported on iOS.
To work around this, first export the Visio diagram as an image (PNG or JPEG) and insert that image into OneNote instead of the Visio file. Second, if you need to keep the Visio file editable, store it as an attachment and view or edit it only on a PC. Lastly, you can also open the notebook in OneNote for Windows or OneNote on the web, where Visio rendering is supported.
