Ovládací DataGridView prvek zobrazí své buňky pomocí stylů označených vlastností buňky InheritedStyle , která dědí styly z jiných vlastností typu DataGridViewCellStyle. Styly zadané prostřednictvím DefaultCellStyle vlastnosti ovlivňují všechny buňky s výjimkou případů, kdy byly přepsány styly zadanými následujícími vlastnostmi:

• DataGridViewColumn.DefaultCellStyle

• RowsDefaultCellStyle

• AlternatingRowsDefaultCellStyle

• DataGridViewRow.DefaultCellStyle
