StackFrame.GetFileColumnNumber Method

Definition

Gets the column number in the file that contains the code that is executing. This information is typically extracted from the debugging symbols for the executable.

public int GetFileColumnNumber ();
public virtual int GetFileColumnNumber ();

Returns

The file column number, or 0 (zero) if the file column number cannot be determined.

Examples

The following example demonstrates the use of the GetFileColumnNumber method. This code example is part of a larger example provided for the StackFrame class.

// Display the stack frame properties.
StackFrame sf = st.GetFrame(i);
Console.WriteLine(" File: {0}", sf.GetFileName());
Console.WriteLine(" Line Number: {0}",
   sf.GetFileLineNumber());
// Note that the column number defaults to zero
// when not initialized.
Console.WriteLine(" Column Number: {0}",
   sf.GetFileColumnNumber());
if (sf.GetILOffset() != StackFrame.OFFSET_UNKNOWN)
{
   Console.WriteLine(" Intermediate Language Offset: {0}",
      sf.GetILOffset());
}
if (sf.GetNativeOffset() != StackFrame.OFFSET_UNKNOWN)
{
   Console.WriteLine(" Native Offset: {0}",
      sf.GetNativeOffset());
}
