FormView.OnModeChanging(FormViewModeEventArgs) Method

Definition

Raises the ModeChanging event.

protected:
 virtual void OnModeChanging(System::Web::UI::WebControls::FormViewModeEventArgs ^ e);
protected virtual void OnModeChanging (System.Web.UI.WebControls.FormViewModeEventArgs e);
abstract member OnModeChanging : System.Web.UI.WebControls.FormViewModeEventArgs -> unit
override this.OnModeChanging : System.Web.UI.WebControls.FormViewModeEventArgs -> unit
Protected Overridable Sub OnModeChanging (e As FormViewModeEventArgs)

Parameters

e
FormViewModeEventArgs

A FormViewModeEventArgs that contains the event data.

Exceptions

This method is called when the FormView control is not bound to a data source control, the mode change was not canceled, and an event handler is not registered for the event.

Remarks

The OnModeChanging method is called by the FormView control to raise the ModeChanging event. It is generally used by control developers when extending the FormView class.

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.

The OnModeChanging method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnModeChanging(FormViewModeEventArgs) in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnModeChanging(FormViewModeEventArgs) method so that registered delegates receive the event.
