Exercise - Build a bot in Microsoft Copilot Studio with the new AI capabilities

In this unit, you create an initial copilot by using Microsoft Copilot Studio that uses natural language to respond to questions.

Create a copilot

  1. Navigate to Microsoft Copilot Studio.

    Important

    Make sure that you're in the correct environment.

  2. Select Create from the left navigation pane and select the New copilot tile.

    Note

    The Create a copilot wizard opens. This wizard helps you set up your copilot by naming it, selecting the language, and also optionally choosing if you want to boost your conversations with generative answers.

  3. Select Skip to configure.

  4. In the Name text box, enter Real Estate Booking Service

  5. In the Description text box, enter Create bookings for real estate properties

  6. In the Instructions text box, enter Create a copilot for topics relating to creating bookings for real estate properties

  7. Select English for Language.

  8. Select the three dots next to the Create button in the top-right of the screen and select Edit advanced settings.

  9. Select the Bookings solution.

  10. Select Save.

  11. In the top-right of the screen, select Create.

  12. In the Test your copilot pane, enter How do I make a booking?

Configure Security

  1. Select Settings in the top-right of the screen.

  2. Select the Security tab.

  3. Select the Authentication tile.

  4. Select No authentication.

  5. Select Save.

  6. Select Save.

  7. Select Close.

  8. Select your copilot in the Copilot pane on the left-hand side of the screen to return to the Overview tab.

Remove topics

Sample topics are included with new copilots. Remove these sample topics. You can also disable system topics that you don't require.

Delete sample topics

  1. Select the Topics tab and select Custom.

  2. Select the three dots next to the Lesson 1 topic and select Delete.

  3. Select Delete.

  4. Repeat the delete for Lesson 2 and Lesson 3.

Disable system topics

  1. Select the Topics tab and select All.

  2. Toggle Enabled to Off for the Sign in topic.

Test the copilot

Before you can test a copilot, it needs to publish. Select Publish and select Publish again.

Demo Website

The Demo website allows users without a license to test your copilot. You can provide them with the URL to the demo website.

  1. Select the three dots next to the Settings button in the top-right of the screen and select Go to demo website.

  2. In the Type your message text box, enter What information is needed to book a viewing for a real estate property?
