Type Element (Multiple Parents)

As a child of the Mask or WBSMask elements, Type is the type of code string for first-level tasks (numbers, letters, or unordered characters).

In a Task element, Type is the type of task (fixed units, fixed duration, or fixed work).

In a PredecessorLink element, Type is the type of task link (FF, FS, SF or SS).

In a Resource element, Type is the type of resource (material or work).

In an Exception element, Type is the calendar exception type (daily, weekly, and so on).

In a Value element, Type is the type of outline code (date, duration, text, and so on).

In TimephasedData element, Type is one of the 76 types of timephased data.

Element Properties for Mask or WBSMask:

The Type element has an integer value that represents the type of code string for first-level tasks.

Value	Description
0	Numbers (ordered); a numeric WBS code for this level (default).
1	Uppercase Letters (ordered); uppercase, alphabetical WBS codes (for example, A, B, and C for the first three summary tasks in the project).
2	Lowercase Letters (ordered); lowercase, alphabetical WBS codes (for example, a, b, and c for the first three summary tasks in the project).
3	Characters (unordered); any combination of numbers and uppercase or lowercase letters; for example, Arch1, Const1, or Insp1 for the first three summary tasks in the project. Project 2007 displays an asterisk (*) in the custom outline field until you type or enter a string of characters for the code.
