Microsoft has been charging me 12 dollars a month for the past year for a Minecraft realms subscription that doesn’t exist. Everytime I open Minecraft the realm is back open again, and I keep getting charged. I’ve canceled it atleast 10 times already and everytime I open Minecraft again it’s open. It also says it’s been cancelled in my Microsoft account subscriptions. I’ve tried everything to contact a human and nothing is working. Please help I need my money back

Hello, good day and thanks for your question. Sorry to know about this and if there is no other subscription that is present on your account this means that the payment method or the card that you are using got caught somewhere from the last time that you have used it and this has caused an unauthorized charge and in this case it is best to reach out to the bank to block and replace your card to avoid additional or future unwanted charge/s.

It is also a good measure to temporarily lock it from the bank's website or the bank's mobile app to ensure that you will not have an unauthorized charge while this is still being figured out.

Meanwhile, please reach out to the Minecraft team at https://aka.ms/Minecraft-Support/ for this to checked, investigated and corrected accordingly.

For recurring Minecraft Realms charges that continue after cancellation and for getting money back, the supported steps are:

    1. Confirm the subscription is really cancelled
      • Go to the Microsoft account Services page: https://account.microsoft.com/services
      • Sign in with the same Microsoft account used for Minecraft.
      • Locate any Minecraft / Realms or other recurring subscriptions.
      • If the button shows Manage, open it and choose Cancel (or Upgrade or Cancel) and follow the prompts until the status shows as cancelled or an end date.
      • If it shows Turn on recurring billing instead of Manage, recurring billing is already off and the subscription will expire on the date shown.
    2. Check for other accounts or app‑store purchases
      • If the subscription was purchased through Google Play or Apple App Store on mobile, cancellation and refunds must be handled through those stores, not the Microsoft account.
      • For Google Play purchases, see Learn about Google Play refund policies.
      • For Apple App Store purchases, request a refund from Apple support.
    3. Investigate the charges
      • Use the Manage your payments page of the Microsoft account dashboard to see exactly which subscription and account the $12 charges are tied to and confirm there is not a second Microsoft account being billed.
      • If the charge is not recognized or appears on an unexpected account, follow the guidance in How to investigate a billing charge from Microsoft from the billing support articles.
    4. Request a refund
      • After confirming the subscription is cancelled, use the official refund process described in How to get a refund on a Microsoft subscription.
      • Not all cancellations result in a refund, but the refund flow will show eligibility based on region, subscription type, and dates.
      • In some countries (for example Canada, Israel, Korea, Turkey, and certain longer renewed subscriptions in Denmark, Finland, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal), a prorated refund may be available when cancelling Microsoft Store subscriptions. See Countries with prorated refunds for Microsoft subscriptions for details.
    5. If self‑service fails, contact Microsoft Support directly
      • Use the Contact – Microsoft Support path described in the Q&A answers: choose Microsoft 365 & Office (or the closest category such as billing), then Manage my subscription / Billing Issue, and select Chat with a support agent or Call me back.
      • Explain that the Minecraft Realms subscription shows as cancelled but continues to reactivate and bill, and reference the repeated cancellations and dates/amounts.
    6. If Microsoft cannot locate or stop the charge
      • If support and the online tools cannot find the subscription or stop the billing, contact the bank or card issuer to dispute the recurring charge as unauthorized or incorrect. They can block further payments and may process a refund.

Following these steps covers: confirming the correct subscription and account, ensuring cancellation is effective, checking for store‑based purchases, using the official refund workflow, and escalating to support and the bank if the charges continue.
