Hello Microsoft Credentials Support,

I need help merging my Microsoft Certification / Microsoft Learn profile.

Current certification account:

******@fpt.edu.vn

(This account currently contains my Pearson VUE exam history and certifications.)

Target primary account:

******@gmail.com

I would like to make ******@gmail.com my primary Microsoft Learn account and move/link all certifications, exam history, transcript, and certification profile data from ******@fpt.edu.vn.

Both accounts are personal Microsoft accounts, and I cannot link them directly because Microsoft Learn only allows one personal account.

Please advise on the required verification steps.

Thank you.

You need to use a work account as a bridge:

    1. Sign into Learn with your old personal email account
    2. Link a work account to your old Learn profile https://learn.microsoft.com/training/support/learn-profile-manage#add-login-accounts-to-your-learn-profile
    3. Sign into Learn with a work account
    4. Remove the old personal email account from the Learn profile
    5. Link and merge your new personal account to your Learn profile https://learn.microsoft.com/training/support/faq?pivots=profile#can-i-merge-two-profiles-of-mine-into-one
    6. Optionally, sign into Learn with the new personal account and remove the work account

Personal Microsoft accounts themselves cannot be merged, and Microsoft Learn profiles only support one personal (MSA) login per profile. Because both logins are personal accounts, certifications and exam history cannot be moved from one personal Learn profile to another by linking or merging.

    Supported options are:

    1. Use Learn profile merge only when there is a single personal account
      • A Learn profile can have:
        • One personal Microsoft account, and
        • Up to five work or school accounts.
      • Profiles can be merged only if at most one of the profiles involved has a personal Microsoft login account.
      • Since both of the accounts in this case are personal MSAs, they cannot be combined into a single Learn profile via the self-service merge process.
    2. Continue using the profile that already holds the certifications
      • The certifications, exam history, and transcript are bound to the Learn profile that currently has them.
      • To keep all existing certifications together, continue to use the account that already contains the Pearson VUE exam history and certifications for future exams.
    3. Use separate profiles going forward
      • If the preferred everyday account is different from the one that holds the certifications, it is possible to:
        • Keep using the certification-bearing account for exams and credentials, and
        • Use the other personal account for other Microsoft services.
    4. No supported transfer between two personal MSAs
      • There is no supported way to transfer or migrate certification data from one personal Microsoft Learn profile to another personal Microsoft Learn profile.
      • Personal and work/school accounts can be used side by side, but they cannot be merged.

For scenarios where certifications are split between a personal account and a work/school account, a Learn profile merge can be done by adding the work/school account under Settings → Account Management → Add login account in the Learn profile, as long as only one personal account is involved. That does not apply when both profiles are personal MSAs.
