Looking for something like Canvas Commons where people share their example courses, like a Class Team repository or example.

    Hi @Barber, Tammy H

I hope you have a nice day.

I’m reaching out to follow up on your request. I understand you're looking for something similar to Canvas Commons - a place where you can view how other educators have organized their Class Teams.

While Microsoft Teams doesn’t currently offer a centralized repository for shared course examples, there are a few helpful resources you might find useful:

    • Microsoft Learn has a free course called Build a Digital Learning Hub with Class Teams. It walks through best practices for structuring Class Teams and using features like Classwork, channels, and tabs. You can check it out here: Microsoft Learn Course
    • You might try to explore Microsoft Educator Communities: Platforms like Educator Center Overview - Microsoft Learn Educator Center | Microsoft Learn and Microsoft Q&A | Microsoft Learn include shared examples, templates, and discussions from other educators. These resources can help you discover different approaches to organizing Class Teams.
    • You can check for Shared Dashboards or Folders: Some educators use SharePoint dashboards or OneDrive folders to present their course layout. If your organization supports this, you can ask for access to these resources to view team structures without needing direct access to the Class Team itself.

I hope these resources help you get the insights you're looking for.

Moreover, we recognize that this limitation may impact your workflow. If this feature would be helpful to you, I recommend submitting feedback directly to our product team. Your input is valuable and helps guide future improvements.

Go to: Microsoft 365 Feedback Hub →Send Feedback→ Describe your proposal in detail

Your feedback is important, Microsoft actively monitors user input to prioritize improvements. The more feedback they receive on this issue, the more likely it is to be addressed.

Let me know if you'd like help navigating any of them.

Wishing you a great day ahead!

    Hi @Barber, Tammy H

Good day! Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum and sharing your experience.

I understand you're looking for a way to share and reuse example courses in Microsoft Teams, similar to how Canvas Commons works. I’d be happy to guide you through the available options in Teams for Education.

Here’s a simple step-by-step approach to help you get started:

    1. You can try to use Class Teams with Classwork to Share Course Content

Microsoft Teams for Education includes a feature called Classwork, which allows educators to organize and share course materials in a structured way.

To create and share reusable content:

    1. You can create a Class Team
      • Go to Microsoft Teams and select Join or create a team.
      • Choose Create team > Class.
    2. You can add content using Classwork
      • Inside your Class Team, go to the Classwork tab.
      • Click + Add module to organize your content by topic or week.
      • You can include assignments, files, links, Class Notebook pages, and more.
    3. You can reuse Modules in Other Classes
      • When creating a new Class Team, you can reuse modules from existing ones.
      • This helps you build a library of example courses that can be shared across your institution.
      1. You can try to share a Class Team as a Template

If you want to share an entire course structure:

    1. You can set up a Class Team with All Your Content
      • Include channels, tabs, files, and Classwork modules.
    2. You can use the Team as a Template
      • When creating a new team, select Create from an existing team.
      • Choose the team you want to use as a template.
      • This copies the structure and content (excluding student data) into a new team.
    3. You can try to use SharePoint or OneDrive for Central Repositories

You can also store example course materials in a shared SharePoint site or OneDrive folder, and link them in Teams:

    • Upload your course files to a shared location.
    • Share the link with educators or embed it in a Teams tab for easy access.

Thank you again for your patience and for choosing Microsoft Q&A forum. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can assist you with. I’m here to support you every step of the way.
