I recently got hacked and he managed to get into my main microsoft account. I believe he deleted the account but when i tried to log in it wasn't letting me, I lost a lot of stuff (Xbox account with games) and my windows is bugged now because it was linked to my pc's windows. I tried contacting support but was never answered, this is extremely annoying since i had games that i spent a lot of money on in Xbox and now its like it doesn't exist. If someone could please help me , i would greatly appreciate it.

    Hello chris

Thanks for reaching out. I understand how frustrating this is, especially since the account was tied to your Windows sign‑in and Xbox purchases.

Have you already checked the Q&A Assist suggestions? if yes, what happened when you tried those steps?

Also, when you try to sign in with the original email address, do you see one of the following messages?

    • “We couldn’t find an account with that username”
    • or a password / security challenge, but the account is still recognized

This distinction is important because Microsoft account recovery options depend entirely on whether the account still exists in the system.

In addition, you can reach out directly to Microsoft Support team for further assistance:

    • Go to Contact - Microsoft Support and login.
    • In the search box, type the brief description of your issue.
    • Click "Get Help", then scroll to the bottom and select "Contact Support”.
    • When prompted to select Products & Services, select "Other Products"; Under Category, select "Manage account security".
    • Look for and select "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" (during business hours) or a similar callback option (if available). Explain your situation clearly.

Please feel free to let me know how it goes so I can guide you further Thank you so much for your time and understanding.

If the Microsoft account was hacked and is now deleted or cannot be found, recovery depends entirely on whether it is still within Microsoft’s reopening window and whether the account actually still exists in the system.

    1. Check if the account still exists or was just compromised
    • Go to the Microsoft account sign-in page and try to sign in with the original email.
    • If the message “We couldn't find an account with that username” appears, follow the “Account hacked?” path and use the Sign-in Helper for hacked account issues: Open the Sign-in Helper for support options or hacked account issues.
    • If the account is recognized but you cannot sign in, follow the hacked/compromised account recovery steps: run antivirus on all devices, then try to reset your password and secure the account as described in the hacked-account guide.
    1. If the account was closed (deleted) by you or via account settings
    • When a Microsoft account is closed, there is a 30‑day or 60‑day grace period during which it can be reopened.
    • To reopen during that period:
      1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com and sign in with the same account.
      2. A security code will be sent to your security info; after entering it, the account is reopened and existing subscriptions, Xbox profile, Gamerscore, and purchased content become available again.
    • If the grace period has passed, the account is permanently deleted and cannot be reopened. In that case, Xbox profile and purchases tied to that account cannot be restored to a new account.
    1. If the account was deleted automatically
    • If there was no sign-in for more than two years, the account may have been automatically deleted and cannot be reopened.
    1. If the system says the account does not exist
    • If sign-in and recovery tools report that the account does not exist, and it is beyond the reopen window or has been auto-deleted, there is no supported way to restore that Microsoft account or its Xbox purchases.
    • A new Microsoft account would need to be created and used going forward, but previous Xbox purchases tied to the deleted account will not transfer.
    1. Next steps for the hacked scenario
    • Use the hacked/compromised account guide to attempt recovery as long as the account still exists: How to recover a hacked or compromised Microsoft account.
    • If sign-in helper and recovery form confirm the account no longer exists or cannot be reopened (per the rules above), there is no further supported recovery path for that account or its Xbox content.

For the Windows installation that is “bugged” because it was linked to that Microsoft account, a new Microsoft account can be created and then used to sign into Windows, but this will not restore content from the deleted account.
