Managing personal Outlook.com account settings, security, and privacy
Hello,
I have some good news for you, which is not documented anywhere/updated in Microsoft's alias document yet.
The good news is, as long as you have another alias to sign into the "same" Microsoft account, you can get this outlook.com email address added back. This is some very new change Microsoft quietly made possible, but they haven't updated any of their documents. Remember, two key things -
- You must have another alias to log into the account.
- It must be the same Microsoft account. You cannot use the outlook.com address to create another Microsoft account.
So, wait out 7 days, because you can only change alias twice every 7 days. Once the wait is over. Use the Add alias > "Create new" option, then put in the same outlook address. It will let you add.
