    Hello

In order to find the driver for your specific model, I need to gather some information first.

Type msinfo32.exe in the search on the taskbar and hit enter, then share a screenshot of the pop up please.

Use Device Manager to reinstall the audio driver, then, if needed, install the latest driver from the PC manufacturer.

    1. Reinstall the audio driver in Device Manager
      1. Select Start, type Device Manager, and open it.
      2. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
      3. Right‑click your audio device (for example, Realtek Audio) and select Uninstall device.
      4. If a confirmation dialog appears, confirm the uninstall.
      5. Restart the PC. After restart, Windows will automatically reinstall the audio driver.
    2. If there is still no sound, update the driver
      1. Open Device Manager again.
      2. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
      3. Right‑click your audio device and select Update driver.
      4. Select Search automatically for drivers and follow the on‑screen instructions.
      5. Restart the PC.
    3. If Windows cannot find a working driver
      1. Go to the PC manufacturer’s support website.
      2. Find the exact model of the new computer.
      3. Download the latest Windows 11 audio driver.
      4. Run the downloaded installer and follow its instructions.
      5. Restart the PC and test sound.

If sound still does not work, follow the broader audio troubleshooting steps in Windows, including checking the selected output device and running the built‑in audio troubleshooter.

    Hi Rosemarie Miller,

The best option should be navigating to your laptop or motherboard support page to download and install the audio drivers for your system.

In case the previous driver has problem and you have Realtek audio chipset, you can use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely remove the old drivers before installing the new one. It is best to run DDU in Safe Mode.

If you have any difficulty along the way, or you have trouble finding the right driver, please give me your laptop or motherboard model.
