On my desktop computer, it tells me I have to set up a PIN to get into the computer, and to do so, it has to send a code to my email, and I'm not receiving the email

    Hello,

    1. Did you check your Junk or SPAM email folders to see if the verification email from Microsoft ended up there? (OR)
    2. Add the "@microsoft.com" domain to the safe sender list here, then request the verification code. https://outlook.live.com/mail/0/options/mail/junkEmail

    Note -

Sometimes the block may be tied to a specific Wi-Fi network you're connected to. So, try switching to another Wi-Fi network, such as a mobile hotspot, and see if you receive the Verification code.

If you are still having issues, add a new way to sign in or verify your account -

    1. From another Working PC or a browser, go to the Security Settings page of your Microsoft account here - https://account.live.com/proofs/Manage
    2. If you can sign in successfully on the link above, select 'Add another way to sign in to your account', select 'Use an app'.
    3. Set up Microsoft Authenticator on your Mobile device.
    4. Once done, restart your desktop computer and set up a PIN.
    5. This time, verify your account using the Authenticator app.

Let me know how it goes.

    Try these checks in order:

    1. Check the Junk/Spam folder for the verification message. Valid Microsoft verification codes come from @accountprotection.microsoft.com. Mark that sender as trusted.
    2. Make sure the code is being sent to the correct address. Verification codes can only be sent to your primary alias or another email already added as a sign-in verification method.
    3. Avoid requesting the code repeatedly. Too many requests can trigger a temporary block and stop codes from being sent for a period of time.
    4. If the verification email is another Microsoft address such as @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com, or @msn.com, use two private/InPrivate browser windows:
      1. In the first private window, stay signed in to the account that is asking for the code.
      2. Open a second private window.
      3. Sign in to the email account that should receive the code.
      4. Copy the code from that message and enter it in the first window.
    5. If the account has been flagged for unusual activity or temporarily blocked, verification messages might not arrive until that issue clears.
    6. If the sign-in screen offers it, choose I don't have a code or Show more verification methods and use another method that is already set up.
    7. If this is a personal PC and Windows says an organization requires a PIN update, check Settings > Accounts > Access work or school. If a work or school account is listed there unexpectedly, disconnect it, restart the PC, and try again.
    8. If no code arrives and no other verification method works, use the Sign-in helper or Contact Support. Support agents cannot send verification codes or change account details for security reasons.
