Hi,

My name is Tracy Removed PII and I am requesting a refund for the subscription that came out of my account on 12/2025. I no longer have that computer and have no used that program for 6+ months. Is there a way that I can get even a prorated refund from now until the end of December?

I would need a live check because that credit card is inactive now.

Please let me know. My contact info is Removed PII@@gmail.com or 678-xxx-xxxx.

    Hi,
Since 3 months have passed, I am not sure a direct refund would be possible.

Please contact Microsoft Support for further assistance.

Please go to the https://support.microsoft.com/contactus page

Type "Chat with someone" option and press Enter.

Please click on the "Contact support" button at the bottom.

Select the Product and Category for support based on your requirements.

The available support methods will be shown to you.

I hope this information helps. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

Otherwise, please take a moment to rate the answer. Wishing you good luck!

A refund or prorated refund for a Microsoft 365 subscription depends on where the subscription was purchased, the country/region, and the timing of cancellation.

For Microsoft 365 subscriptions purchased directly from Microsoft:

    1. Sign in to the Services & subscriptions page with the same Microsoft account that was used to buy the subscription: https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365 (select Sign in if prompted).
    2. Find the Microsoft 365 subscription and select Manage.
    3. Select Cancel (or Upgrade or Cancel) and follow the on-screen steps to complete cancellation.
      • In some countries (Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Israel, Korea, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Turkey), cancelling may entitle the subscriber to a prorated refund depending on subscription length. Learn more.
    4. After cancellation, if the subscription is eligible, a refund entry will appear in Order history at https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders. The refund is issued back to the original payment method.

If the subscription was purchased through a third party (for example, Amazon, Best Buy, Google Play, Apple App Store):

    • Microsoft cannot cancel or refund these subscriptions. Cancellation and refund must be requested directly from the retailer or app store where the subscription was purchased.

If there is no refund entry after cancellation, the subscription was not within the eligible refund window, and no refund is due. Refunds are processed back to the original payment provider; issuing a live check instead of refunding to the original payment method is not described in the available guidance.

For unrecognized or disputed charges, or for help when the card is inactive, contact Microsoft Support directly via the Contact Support flow on the Microsoft Support site and work with an agent to review the specific charge and refund options.
