I really need your help. I received at least 20 emails from: @groups.outlook.com and their emails. I block them but, it's a constant blockage every day.

Thanks for your help

    Hi Nicole Nantel,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Please note that our forum is a public platform, and we will modify your question to hide your personal information in the description. Kindly ensure that you hide any personal or organizational information the next time you post an error or other details to protect personal data.

The domain you see in the From line may not always be the real sending address, as some senders can spoof or disguise the visible sender information. Because of that, blocking only the domain shown in the message list may not reliably stop all similar emails.

Please open one of the unwanted emails in Outlook.com and check the message headers to identify the actual sender address or domain. You can follow Microsoft’s guide here: View internet message headers in Outlook. Microsoft notes that checking the header can help confirm whether the sender address is different from what appears in the message.

Once you identify the actual sender address or domain from the header, please block that exact address or domain in Outlook.com:

    • Go to Settings > Mail > Junk email.
    • Under Blocked senders and domains, add the exact email address or domain you found in the message header.
    • Select Add, then Save.

If the emails continue, you can also create an inbox rule in Outlook.com using conditions such as sender address includes or specific words in the message header, then choose to move or delete those messages automatically.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further updates, thanks.

Outlook.com group messages that end with @groups.outlook.com are sent by Outlook.com Groups. Blocking individual senders will not fully stop them, because new messages can come from many different group addresses.

To reduce or stop these messages in Outlook on the web / Outlook.com, use junk and safe sender settings:

    1. At the top of Outlook.com, select Settings (gear icon).
    2. Select Mail > Junk email.
    3. Under Blocked senders and domains (or Blocked senders / Blocked domains, depending on the view):
      • Add groups.outlook.com as a blocked domain and select Add, then Save. This sends all mail from that domain to Junk Email.
    4. If any legitimate senders are being caught, add their exact addresses under Safe senders and domains so they stay out of Junk.

    Notes and limitations:

    • Messages from blocked senders/domains are moved directly to Junk Email; they cannot be completely prevented from arriving.
    • Junk Email is automatically cleared after a retention period (14–30 days depending on the experience), and items cannot be recovered after that.
    • Rules in Outlook only run on messages in the Inbox, not on items already in Junk, so they cannot further process messages once they are in Junk.

If unwanted messages continue or you suspect abuse of Outlook.com Groups, use the in‑product support channel so an agent can review your account:

    1. Sign in to Outlook.com.
    2. Select Help on the menu bar.
    3. Enter a brief description (for example, “Too many unwanted @groups.outlook.com emails”).
    4. If self‑help articles do not resolve it, scroll down to Still need help? and choose Yes to start a support request or chat.
