My background video stopped playing automatically recently, even when the animation option of windows switched on. However, any other windows animations work just fine. Quite bizarre. I am using Windows 10. How can I solve it ? Help me out please

    Hi @ItsLucky 2490 ,

I can replicate this issue here. I have tried allowing autoplay at edge://settings/content/mediaAutoplay (You may have a check, too), but it seems to have no effect. I suggest sending feedback to the Dev Team by pressing Alt+Shift+I in Microsoft Edge to report this issue.

As additional information, I don't think it is related to Microsoft Edge itself, but it is more likely to be an ntp.msn.com website issue. I tested on Edge 113, which was a release of 2 months ago, and I could still replicate this issue. But you can still send feedback inside Microsoft Edge.

I have this same issue running edge on linux, something in the back of the brain lean me to tyhink its an potential glitch with the energy efficenty options. Seing I am running this on a desktop, Ill turn off energy efficentcy and see if that fixes it, aloso to check if its a permisions issue, I'll fire it up as root and see if that changes anything. The othe possibility is a firewall issue. Is there any ports that need to be open?

Ok I was wrong on all accounts, aparently in the bottom right hand corner is a play button. "Press on that and bam she starts playing" I tell ya on a 4k 32inch monitor,I kept missing that sucker. I can not say this is the same for everyone. I am running Edge Version 129.0.2792.89 (Official build) (64-bit) on Kubuntu 24.04 LTS Linux. So my friendly folks your milage may vary. But for now Im gunna call this one fixed. :P
