i have a charge on my amex account for $108.43 dated 12/20, it seems to be a recurring charge as it was $79.00 last year on the same date, however there was no digital receipt left on my amex account. i was thinking it might be my word or excel renewal. However it may be tied to a different email address ******@optonline.net.

Hi! Microsoft Support can’t confirm which personal Microsoft account is being billed just from the charge details, due to privacy/security limitations. If you still have access to any of the possible Microsoft accounts, the best way to identify the source is to check the order/charge history here:

    account.microsoft.com/billing/orders

There you can confirm which service/subscription the charge belongs to and the account that owns it (for that signed-in profile).

If you check all possible accounts (including any family members’ accounts that may have used the same card) and none show the subscription/charge, then it’s best to contact your bank to block future charges / replace the card, since it could indicate the payment method is being used elsewhere or linked to an account you don’t control.

am i buying a new product or just a renewal?? I was never sent a receipt and according to AMEX there is no digital receipt in my account folder. I have been locked out of my word access but im wondering if its tied to my old email address ******@optonline.net and not my new address ******@gmail.com.

It sounds like the charge you are seeing on your American Express account could be related to a subscription for Microsoft 365, especially if it aligns with the renewal of services like Word or Excel. Microsoft 365 subscriptions typically have recurring billing, and if you had a subscription last year, it would make sense for a similar charge to appear this year.

If you are unsure about the charge or if it is linked to a different email address, you can check your Microsoft account associated with that email to see if there are any active subscriptions. Additionally, you may want to contact Microsoft 365 Support for clarification on the charge and to verify if it is indeed related to your account.

For future reference, it's also a good practice to keep track of your subscriptions and their renewal dates to avoid any confusion regarding charges.
