Hi,

Background/whining:
I have a 1-man company and no other Microsoft products or subscriptions. I want to Join the MS 365 Developer Program to develop and test Power Apps.
If anyone reading this is experiencing a endless loop forcing you to use a edu/work account:

  • After A LOT of googling i figured out you can't use free emails for this (unfortunately i lost the well hidden FAQ page after clearing web history to solve the issue.
I used this service page, making my company email a work account: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/b/business-work-account
(not sure this is a solution but at least i now have a MS approved work account)
  • The FAQ for signing up without a work/edu account is faulty, it sends you spiraling to create Azure subs, Entra setups etcetera while still not accepting your email as a work account.
  • I will make it my life task to post feedback on MS FAQ's and Resources so they eventually connect relevant info pages, perhaps merge a few of them since the answer you're looking for is spread over 10 different locations. I recommend others to do the same. Thanks for listening

The issue:
I've finally managed to get past the login page to sign up for the program, only to find Dashboard blank. No data loaded, no way to proceed.

If there's a site error, so be it. Please confirm if possible. If you have a resolution to the issue, please advise.

Managed to find a solution!

  1. Use MS Edge Web browser
  2. Register your e-mail adress as a MS approved Work Account: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/b/business-work-account (unsure if a Gmail or equivalent is accepted)
  3. Start a Free Developer plan via this page: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/products/power-apps/pricing (the 'official' page for "MS 365 Developer Program" linked to from several MS pages doesn't work) using the .onmicrosoft-adress generated from your work account
  4. Voilá.

Now i only need to get MS to clean up their website from all these non working links and landing pages. But that's my headache and crusade.

Thank you @Michelle-N for the support.

I would like to first clarify that this is a user‑to‑user support forum. Moderators here are not Microsoft Support, so we don’t have backend access or the ability to perform escalations. However, we’re happy to help with troubleshooting guidance and best‑practice recommendations.

    Hi @Kris

Thank you for providing the detailed background. Based on your description, the primary issue now appears to be that the Microsoft 365 Developer Program dashboard is loading as a blank page after successful authentication, rather than a problem with account sign-in itself.

Since you have already followed the troubleshooting steps from the related thread and are able to reach the dashboard, this may indicate a service-side issue with profile provisioning or dashboard initialization. Unfortunately, community members cannot verify the backend status of the Developer Program service.

I initially experienced the same issue as you, where I was getting a blank page when trying to access the dashboard. However, after some testing, I tried going through the main site > Developer Program > My Dashboard.

When you do that, is the dashboard still showing as a blank page?

Also, if possible, could you try signing in from a completely different computer and see if the issue persists? At the moment, I haven't seen any official communication or known issue reported for this behavior. So for now, I'd recommend continuing with some basic troubleshooting steps to help narrow down the cause.
