Outlook Newsletter cannot be sent from shared Mailbox

I'd like to send out a Newsletter using the new Outlook Newsletters feature.

This should allow me to send Newsletters from alternate senders and it should be possible to use a shared mailbox as the alternate sender as long as I have the send-as permission from said mailbox, which I do.

The shared mailbox is a Co-Author of the Newsletter, I have hit the "Ask to send" button and used the link then provided to the shared mailbox and have full permission of the shared mailbox.

However, I am always receiving an error message stating "Something went wrong while publishing the edition".

Do you have more ideas for problem solving? Thank you!

Hi @Lena,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for reaching out to us. I would like to provide you with the following information:

In this case, please check the following details:

First, make sure that the Send As permission has actually been added through the Exchange Admin Center:

  • Step 1: Go to the website: https://admin.exchange.microsoft.com
  • Step 2: Click on Mailbox and find the name of your shared mailbox account User's image
  • Step 3: Click on Delegation
  • Step 4: Under Send As, check if your account has been added User's image

After confirming that Send As has been set up, verify that you have correctly added the shared mailbox name to your account: Settings > Account > Share with me

User's image

Next, clear the cache for New Outlook:

  • Step 1: Press Windows + R
  • Step 2: Enter the following path: olk.exe --devtools User's image
  • Step 3: Click on Application
  • Step 4: Under Cookie and Local Storage, right-click on outlook.office.com and select Clear

After completing these steps, try sending the newsletter again from the shared mailbox using the New Outlook app and Incognito mode in the web browser to check.

If you still cannot send the newsletter from the shared mailbox after following these steps, you need to contact Microsoft Support to check if there are any special policies or settings applied to your account.

You can refer to the following link to raise a ticket with Microsoft Suppor:https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/admin/get-help-support?view=o365-worldwide

Once the system receives your ticket and assigns it to an agent, a live agent will proactively contact you and assist step by step until the issue is fully resolved.

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

I look forward to continuing the conversation.
