Hello, I am the engineer of a company specializing in Voip solutions and UC&C.

We are interested in certifying our Session Border Controller (SBC) for Microsoft Teams Direct Routing. We would like to understand the current process, requirements, and eligibility criteria for becoming a certified SBC vendor, and whether there are any options available for new candidates at this time.

Could you please provide guidance on how our company can proceed, or direct us to the appropriate resources or contacts for further information?

Thank you

Hi Andrea Minetti
Thank you for posting question to Microsoft Q&A Forum.
Based on this public article: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/direct-routing-border-controllers - it seems that the Microsoft Teams SBC is currently closed to new vendors (updated by today as January 17, 2026).

For alternatives, you could look for this: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/communication-services/concepts/telephony/certified-session-border-controllers
If you have any questions about the SBC certification program for Communication Services direct routing, contact acsdrcertification@microsoft.com.
As this is peer-to-peer support forum, moderators do not have access to internal system to check or help you apply for certification process. My suggestion is to have a later check on the Microsoft Teams SBC and review the alternatives.

I hope this information is helpful. If you have any further questions about the alternatives, please send an email with detailed questions to the address mentioned above - Azure Communication Services (ACS) Direct Routing Certification.
