iPad Air M4: Teams App camera upside down

I just bought a brand new M4 iPad to use for a job interview on Thursday through teams and the camera is displaying upside down. I cannot find a setting within the app to modify the camera orientation and changing the orientation of the device does not help. Is there a fix for this issue or do I have to hope for an update to the Teams app by that time?

Thank you for your assistance.

My issue with upside down video was resolved with the recent release of Teams version 8.5.0

    Hi @David Lumb,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I would like to share the following information with you:

To resolve this issue, you can try the steps below:

    1. Sign out of Microsoft Teams and completely close the application. Then restart your device and check whether the issue still occurs.
    2. Update your iPad to the latest version of the operating system.
    3. Try uninstalling the Teams app and then reinstalling it.

If the issue is still not resolved after completing the steps above, I recommend that you open a support ticket with Microsoft Technical Support as soon as possible to ensure the issue can be addressed before your interview date.

To create a support ticket with Microsoft Technical Support, please follow these steps:

    • Step 1: Go to admin.microsoft.com
    • Step 2: Select Help & Support User's image
    • Step 3: Enter the subject: Teams camera is inverted User's image
    • Step 4: Select Contact Support
    • Step 5: Choose your preferred contact method User's image

After the system receives the ticket and assigns it to a support engineer, the engineer will proactively contact you and check the settings on your device to help resolve this issue. These troubleshooting steps will not compromise your personal information.

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

I look forward to continuing the conversation.

This issue has been seen on recent iPad models and was addressed by a Teams app update. The recommended fix is to fully close the Teams app and restart it so the updated behavior takes effect.

    Steps:

    1. Make sure the Teams app is updated to the latest version from the App Store.
    2. Force-quit Teams on the iPad (swipe up from the bottom, find Teams in the app switcher, and swipe it away).
    3. Reopen Teams and join a test meeting to confirm the camera is now correctly oriented.

If the problem persists after updating and restarting the app, use Teams in a supported browser (for example, Edge, Safari, or Chrome) as a temporary workaround for the interview until a newer Teams app update is available.
