I cancelled Microsoft 365 Basic right after purchasing it. Never used it or turned it on. After I cancelled it said I would be refunded 21.94. Still waiting. Where's my refund?

    Hi, I'm John!

Since you cancelled right after purchase, the refund should still be processed.

For Microsoft 365 subscriptions, refunds are not instant. They usually take:

    • 3–5 business days for most payments
    • Up to 10 business days depending on your bank or payment provider

Even if you didn’t use the subscription, the refund still follows that processing time.

If it’s already been more than 10 business days, you’ll need to contact Microsoft support so they can trace the refund on their system.

Refunds for Microsoft 365 subscriptions are not always issued, and when they are, they appear as a separate refund entry in the Microsoft account order history.

To verify the refund status and timing:

    1. Open the Microsoft account Order history page: Open Order history.
    2. Locate the Microsoft 365 Basic purchase.
    3. Check whether there is a separate line showing a refund and its status.
      • If a refund was issued, the status will be shown there. After Microsoft issues the refund, it can still take a few days for the bank or payment provider to post the money back.
      • If there is no refund entry, the cancellation was likely outside the refund eligibility period, or the subscription was only set to stop recurring billing without a refund.

If the subscription was purchased in a country that supports prorated refunds (for example, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Israel, Korea, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, or Turkey) and it was cancelled according to the policy, a prorated refund may be applied automatically after cancellation.

If no refund entry appears and the charge is still not understood, use the guidance in the refund and billing articles to review eligibility and then contact Microsoft Support from the help pages for further assistance.
