Kindly do these step by step:
Step 1 Check microphone is active
- Start Settings System Sound
- Under Input Select the correct microphone built in or external Talk and confirm the blue bar moves
- If no movement Mic is muted disabled or wrong device selected
Step 2 Check Camera app permission
- Settings Privacy and Security Microphone
- Turn Microphone access On Turn Let apps access your microphone On
- Scroll down Make sure Camera is allowed
Step 3 Check Volume mixer
- Settings System Sound Volume mixer
- Make sure System volume is up Camera app is not muted Camera volume slider is up
Step 4 Confirm default input
- Settings System Sound
- Under Input Select the mic you want to use This sets it as the default for Camera
Step 5 Turn off audio enhancements
- Sometimes updates break mic audio
- Settings System Sound
- Under Input Select the microphone Turn Audio enhancements Off if present
- Do the same under Output for speakers
Step 6 Update or reset audio driver
If this started after updates this matters.
- Press Win + X Device Manager
- Expand Sound video and game controllers
- Right click your audio device Select Update driver Search automatically
- Restart and test
- If still no sound Right click audio device again Select Uninstall device Check remove driver if available Restart
- Windows will reinstall a clean driver
Step 7 Test with another app
- Open Voice Recorder Record 5 seconds. If Voice Recorder works, the issue is Camera app only
