    Hello Brendan James van Staaden,

I see that you want to access Microsoft 365 Family Subscription. Let me assist you go through this situation.

Step 1 — Sign in to the correct account portal

    1. Open a browser on the rebuilt PC.
    2. Go to Microsoft account: https://account.microsoft.com/account?ru=https%3A%2F%2Faccount.microsoft.com%2F&destrt=home.landing&pageName=Account
    3. Sign in with the same Microsoft account email that is:
      • The subscription owner, or
      • A family member who already accepted the Family invitation

Step 2 — Confirm you’re attached to the Family subscription

    1. In the Microsoft account dashboard, select Subscriptions.
    2. Make sure you see Microsoft 365 Family listed.
    3. If you do not see it:
      • You are either signed into the wrong email, or
      • The Family invitation was never accepted

(Only accounts that accepted the invitation can install apps.)

Step 3 — Open the install page (this is the “portal” you’re looking for)

    1. From Subscriptions, select Install or Install premium apps.
    2. This opens the Download and Install Microsoft 365 page.
    3. Leave language/version as default and select Install.

Step 4 — Install on Windows

    1. Run OfficeSetup.exe from your Downloads folder.
    2. When prompted, allow the app to make changes.
    3. Wait until you see“You’re all set! Office is now installed.”
    4. Open Word or Excel and sign in with the same Microsoft account when asked.

VERY common issues on rebuilt PCs:

    • Do NOT use portal.office.com (that’s for work/school accounts)
    • Make sure Windows isn’t signed into a different Microsoft account
    • Remove old Office versions first if activation fails

I hope this will help with your situation. Please feel free to reach back if you have further update or more questions.

    Best Regards,
